Faith and Patriotism - By Archbishop Charles J. Chaput /The New York Times Op-Ed Contributor
Fr. Charles J. Chaput, Archbisop of Denver writes in an increadable must read op-ed in the New York Times today -
"People who support permissive abortion laws have no qualms about imposing their views on society. Often working against popular opinion, they have tried to block any effort to change permissive abortion laws since the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision in 1973. That's fair. That's their right. But why should the rules of engagement be different for citizens who oppose those laws?"
"Exiling religion from civic debate separates government from morality and citizens from their consciences. That road leads to politics without character, now a national epidemic."

People have such fits over our President's faith and yet I have not heard him quote scripture in a stump speech or debate. When Kerry was between rich wives, still making 6 figure income, his taxes show no charitable deductions. Terry Kerry is "unable" to help the people in Florida who lost so much. Her charity goes to left wing groups. Their tax loopholes allow them to play less tha 13%. Kerry talks about faith without works--he is a walking example.
I have a problem with a President who supports a "culture of life" and then unilaterally starts a war that has now, according to information published today, killed 100,000 people.
One of the findings published today in the The Lancet, a medical journal, is that infant mortality in Iraq has doubled since the US invasion.
To claim you support life and then engage in activities that support a culture of death in Iraq is not only hypocritical, it is criminal.
Dear Anonymous,
All of your information is wrong. Also consider the 100s of thousands of lives that have been saved from Sadam's murderous thugs.
